I’m an independent journalist and writer living in Seattle, WA. The thread that ties my work together is people: the things we make, the places we touch, the strange things we do. I’m a contributor to Slate’s Future Tense, and my work has appeared in publications like High Country News, WIRED, Outside, Smithsonian and National Geographic. I also write a newsletter called Hu Cares.
A good day for me includes hiking, climbing, dogspotting, or bourbon. The best days include all four.
You can read more of my work on my website. In spite of my better judgment, I also tweet.
